Quality over Quantity

We don’t have many cows but we try to have the best cows we can own that fit our program. Like our bulls, they need to excel in many traits especially growth and carcass traits. Obviously we ask them to have all the functional maternal traits like fertility, udder quality, fleshing ability etc., but there number one job is to produce highly productive, efficient and high quality Charolais bulls.

When we started looking to add Silver Gun genetics to our program, we naturally went to Doll Charolais Ranch in ND. F136 was our pick of the Silver Gun daughters and we couldn’t be happier. She’s an extremely nice young female, with a tremendous udder, great disposition and doing a phenomenal job with calves. We feel like Doll Charolais Ranch females are one of the best kept secrets in the Charolais breed. Homozygous Polled and PA Free.

1V08 has been outstanding from start. She was an eye catcher as a calf, a yearling heifer and still is today as a cow. She manages to maintain a low bw, good growth and tremendous marbling. She super easy fleshing, lots of milk with a great udder. We’re exited about the future of this tremendous young female.

She is the dam of the former #1 TSI bull in the Charolais breed who is the sire of the $92,000 PVF Ridge 7142 and PVF O'Railee 7137 herd sire for Eggleston Charolais. Her son JMAR Jericho 1C721 is the new outcross herd sire for Pleasant Dawn Charolais and Highway 21 Feeders in Canada.
